TOP 5 UNLUCKY PLAYERS OF IPL AUCTION 2018

1>>>GAUTAM GAMBHIR

You can name few more unlucky players in IPL auction 2018 but GG will top amongst them.
DD grabbed him for 'just’ 2.8 Cr.
Highlights
  • GG remains 4 th highest run getter in IPL history
  • 2 nd highest run getter in IPL 2017
  • If you look at win:loss ratio of match as captain he is only behind MSD.
  • Holds record for most 50s in IPL along with Warner in IPL history (35)
  • Records speaks for themselves.
It's not about transfer..it's about price tag at which he was grabbed considering his IPL preformance..GG is unlucky…2.8 Cr just don't justify his value when domestic uncapped players grabbing 5–6 crores easily. He is worth more than that.

2>>CHRIS GAYLE

Such is the stature of the Indian Premier League that many famed cricket stars couldn't make it to any of the eight teams during the recently concluded auction.
But I guess, the players who didn't get picked are still in a better situation than someone like Chris Gayle.
Few years ago, it was impossible to imagine an IPL tournament without this T20 legend.
But for the ones who witnessed the auction, it was disheartening to see him getting picked in the dying stages of the auction just at his base price.
It doesn't do justice to a T20 player of his calibre. But then that's what this reputed league is all about. Also, there is no surity if Chris Gayle will get to play many matches like previous seasons.
The gentle laugh and slow claps when he was picked by KXIP was indeed not for the Gayle we had seen before. If KXIP had to pick him, why not on the first day, why in the dying stages. They didn't need to do him any favour.
This is an indication for Gayle and he must be wise enough to decide that it's time for him to hang his boots.
Afterall, every great story comes to an end. IPL and it's success owes a lot to players like him. They deserve their share of respect.
3>>HARBHAJAN SINGH

He had been with Mumbai Indians for 10 years. But he was sold for mere 2 crores and MI did not even try to bid on him. Being a fan of MI it was disheartening to see. He did very well in all 10 seasons but could not get his reward in the end.

4>> HASIM AMLA

How unlucky can a person possibly be? He scored 2 centuries last year and a 96. 2 centuries in T20 matches yet he goes unsold. Often a victim of the incredibly stupid myth of him being a “slow test batsman”, Hashim has proved over the last 2 years that he is a formidable T20 batsman. He scored 420 runs last year at an outstanding average of 60 and a “shut your mouth, critics” strike rate of 145.83. He's one of the most humble and gentlemanly cricketers the world has ever seen. Just because he isn't a starry, spotlight seeking, big hitting batsman, he wasn't bought.

5>>AJINKYA RAHANE

At a time when even the domestic players are fetching more than 6–7 crores(Sanju Samson,Krunal Pandya, Jaydev Unadkat), this top order Indian batsman fetched 4 crores only .(considering the amount other players got)
A batsman of Ajinkya's class, I feel should have got much more than what he actually got. It was a steal deal for the Royals(KXIP initially ) . Had they decided to retain him they would have had to pay much more than what they actually ended up paying.
Although he has not been in the best of his form lately, but he has already done enough in the past few years to prove his calibre.
Even the experts, in the build up shows to the auction, had predicted that he would be one of the top buys in the auction.
But I don't know why he failed to lure teams into bidding for him in the ipl auction.
